Check out the various groups you can be a part of.Membership Development CommitteeThe ABC Chesapeake Shores Membership Development Committee is responsible for providing input into improvements of the membership experience and promoting membership growth by attracting quality construction and construction related businesses.The committee also nurtures member involvement and assists members with getting the most benefit from their membership to ensure the stability of the association.Legislative CommitteeWe educate members and politicians on national, state and local legislative matters affecting our industry. The Legislative Committee is ABCs voice to ensure that ABC continues to be recognized as a premier resource for construction workplace issues. This committee meets as needed, centered on current legislative issues pertaining to our members. Safety/STEP CommitteeOn the forefront of best practices and ever-changing mandates affecting safety requirements in the construction industry, the ABC Chesapeake Shores Safety Committee provides guidance on training requirements and safety awareness to members. Furthermore, the committee is responsible for educating members about STEP and increasing participation in the program. STEP was created as a safety benchmarking and improvement tool that has evolved into a world-class safety management system that dramatically improves safety performance among participants regardless of company size or type of work.Apprenticeship TrustDriving the direction of the Chesapeake Construction Education and Apprenticeship Trust, the committee ensures each of the educational programs has a positive and measurable effect on both students and employers.Education/Workforce CommitteeProviding the leadership to enhance performance in the industry, the Education/Workforce Committee develops and delivers educational classes and seminars to members on a variety of topics. The committee also opens opportunities for members to connect with the future workforce through community outreach, training, events, and career fairs.10'
